Aimed at professionals in IT and digitization, manufacturing, energy, and healthtech, the Discover Finland project combines online courses, events, and training sessions on the Finnish job market.
The Finnish government, through its official talent attraction agency, Work in Finland, has just launched the Discover Finland project in Brazil, created to guide Brazilian professionals who wish to migrate to the Finnish market.
Aimed at professionals in IT and digitization, manufacturing, energy, and healthtech, the program, co-financed by the European Union, combines online courses, events, and training sessions on the Finnish labor market, covering everything from job search and application to professional culture, rights, benefits, and visa processes.
The goal of this project is to create an efficient path for Brazilian specialists to reach Finland, providing the necessary information and knowledge about career planning and professional life, as well as data on rights, responsibilities, and aspects of life in the country.
The course also provides information on residence and work permits. Brazilian professionals who secure a job in Finland can obtain a residence permit within two weeks through the fast-track service, which also speeds up applications for spouses and children.
Online course and coaching sessions
The digital course has five main modules and offers an introductory guide to Finland, including job opportunities, tips for job hunting and preparing for the job market, as well as covering every aspect of adapting to a new country, from housing to health and education.
After completing the course, participants can join group coaching sessions led by experts from sectors such as IT and digitalization, manufacturing, energy, and healthtech to deepen their knowledge in specific areas, understand market expectations, learn about opportunities, and learn how to effectively present their potential when looking for a job.
Any senior professional interested in a career in Finland can participate in the program to learn more about the local job market and available opportunities. Registration takes place after participating in Work in Finland events and verifying citizenship.
Moving to Finland
According to official data, more than 2,600 Brazilians already live and work in Finland, considered one of the happiest countries in the world.
The transition, from job offer to adaptation in Helsinki, takes almost seven months, as it is necessary to gather all the required documentation.
In general, groups switch from Finnish to English when they notice the presence of a foreigner, and they are very friendly and trustworthy people.
Finland offers security, social stability, equality, accessibility, and a good work-life balance.
